What is the RED master key use?

How to program a Vespa key
When you have lost your last service key to your Vespa moped, and you have at home your red master key, then you can order spare blue key and have it cut by professional motorbike locksmith. Once the key is ready to suit your ignition lock, then you or the locksmith can programme the key by sequencing. You can follow the steps below.
1. Insert the RED master key and switch ON for 2 seconds then remove.
2. Insert the new BLUE key and switch ON for 2 seconds, you can get add in this way as many keys as you need. Then remove the last blue key.
3. Insert the RED master key and switch ON for 2 seconds and remove. That will close the programming procedure, and your new Vespa keys will be programme to your ECU.
*Please note when you use this programming procedure do not START up the scooter. Only turn the key to ON position on the ignition switch lock.
How to know if my Vespa Scooter has coded key?
When looking at your dashboard or speedometer, you can see if there is a light with 'code' written near it, it means that your Vespa has an immobiliser system installed. Vespa immobiliser system is an electronic system that prevents theft. It will only start your bike if the key has a compatible chipped key that the immobiliser system recognises. If anyone tries to steal your Piaggio scooter without a coded key, that doesn't have a compatible immobiliser chip. Your Vespa won't start up the engine.
